Early Heer (Army) Officer Dagger – (WKC, Solingen)

Description Beautiful, untouched and textbook WKC dagger in nice condition throughout. The pommel shows little usage with no hits around the rim. It has the twelve standing oak leaves that run around the circumference. The cross guard has the “hatchet beak” that we associate with this producer. The cross guard eagle shows no wear and remains thoroughly crisp throughout. The reverse guard also has all of the silvering. The ferrule nicely matches the other hilt parts. The grip is quite attractive being its the very sought after dark orange type. The grip remains in perfect condition with no damage and very tight. The scabbard is straight throughout and is an early type. The scabbard is nice and straight and like the rest of the dagger uncleaned and holding all of its patina. The carrying bands have good enhancing to the oak leaves and the acorns. The thicker-style throat is retained by the single screw in the right side. The blade is a beauty being completely bright and having all factory grain. It is easily in full mint condition with its needle-like tip. The reverse ricasso is etched with the Knight-head logo which is positioned over the firm’s details, “WKC, Solingen“. The leather washer is the larger style used by this producer. A fine, and very collectible dagger here.
