Military Medal – London Gazette 11th May 1917 Awards for March to April 1917. Likely for the Arras Offensive. The battalion was involved in the intensive fighting around Fampoux and Roeux, suffering significant losses during attacks near Monchy-le-Preux. His MIC shows he landed in France on the 29th July 1915, showing his service in the 13th battalion Royal Scots (service no 16543) then R.A.F. (service no 319332) Its is a little confused on his MIC, recording the issue of his star, then a duplicate issue of the star (this time to RAF), with that then deleted. Pair issued from RAF records.. We can only find reference in the documents to service in the 13th battalion, which ties in with the date he landed in France. Transferred to the R.A.F. on 28th June 1918 It records he was granted an honorary commission on the 14th May 1920. Condition – NVF
