1943 Martin 000-21 Acoustic Guitar Used

Gryphon sold this 1943 000-21 almost 31 years ago and it’s been in the SF Bay Area ever since. It was played in the years that followed but since the owner was more a mandolin player rather than a guitarist it’s essentially in the same cosmetic condition it was when we sold it. The neck was recently professionally reset and refretted. The original tuners were replaced ages ago with Kluson “no-line” replicas. Like the originals, which went missing years ago, the replacements were installed without headstock bushings. This guitar has its original finish throughout as well as its original pickguard and bridge. There’s a fair amount of finish wear as these photos show but there are no cracks that we can detect. All internal bracing is original including the bridge plate. Comes with the original hardshell case (and the case key is in the accessory pocket). The original pickguard’s shrinkage is beginning to pull at the top along the ‘guard’s outer edge near the waist. We can release and reglue the original pickguard (cost would be $150) but since the celluloid has shrunk a bit the repair will show which is why we’re leaving that decision to the next owner. An excellent sounding, and playing, example of Martin’s WWII era rosewood 000. Yes, there is no steel T rod reinforcing the neck (because of wartime restrictions on the use of steel).
